That basically says you're running Solaris 11.1, but Studio 12.5 requires at
least Solaris 11.2 - it found both 11.2 & 11.3 in the pkg repo, but since you
didn't tell it to do an OS upgrade, it's not using those.

The boot environment being modified is not the active one. Changes
made will not be reflected on the next boot.
Perhaps you forgot to reboot into the new BE after upgrading your OS or
temporarily booted back into an older one?

Is it possible to do that in the same command?

I'm curious.
I have installed 11.1 then rebooted then click on "More Software" link and
click "Upgrade"
after that finished I rebooted and tried to install Studio.
It failed because apparently I lost the Internet connection.
Then after reboot the GRUB showed 3 selection: Open Solaris (Hard Drive),
solaris-1 and solaris-2.

Is solaris-2 was created during the failed try to install?
Was there a possibility of losing connection after upgrade and reboot?

I presume the "Active BE" is set to be solaris-1, so I will try to boot
into that again and see if I have
a connection.

Thank you.

..I found one useful hint on SolarisStudio12 on Solaris11.1

Check your Java JDK or SDK. If your JRE is past Java 8.0 (1.8) it won't work, mine refused

to work after I upgraded to java 8. The main start screen came up and then froze...no"workspace

inquiry" or anything. I then removed Java8 and it works fine.

Sun must have done this for compliance to Oracle code of some kind.

Anyone done remove servers between a Solaris 11 and Solaris 10 install?
